Originally, this place was created to host pictures of a special fan game played using Kev Adams figures only - hence its name, "The Kev Adams Challenge". With the assistance of several dedicated contributors, it quickly grew into a gallery and resource site of Kevin "GoblinMaster" Adams' fine works :)
Given the stupendous number of figures he has sculpted in his career, the original title of this blog still applies, as it is a challenge to try and display even a decent fraction of his production indeed!

Do you have some nice pics to send us for the gallery?
A Kev Adams Challenge game report - one with Kev Adams figures only - to submit?

Mr. Adams

Stories of Kev, I have sooooo many, and soooooooo many of them that I hate to repeat without permission, but two stand out, firstly when he and I were together at one of the lesser Nottingham based miniature companies, we were working in an 1890’s hosiery factory. The toilets were a ‘bit’ of a state, and Kevin being a man of clean and tidy habits, moaned to the people in charge that they need to spend £20.00 a week on someone to come in a clean up. Well it didn’t get done… and after few weeks later the whole of the toilet block began to stink, just as the wise-old sculptor had said. The stink got worse and worse until eventually the Bosses had to pay someone to come in and given the place a once over. Turns out our favourite Prankster had hidden a bucket of horse manure in the place to raise the stink a little to bring the matter to the manager's attention.

Secondly, I think the story that illustrates Kev’s strength of character above all others, is the fact that for as long as I have known him (20 years now), Kevin has been volunteering, to run the Coffee bar in the local hospital for the long term mentally ill. Every week, sometimes twice a week, he’d walk through pouring rain or blazing sun-shine, or howling snow-storms to give a few hours of his time to those residents whose only respite from their dulling hospitalisation is a couple of hours with a coffee and a chat to someone outside their direct situation.

So that for me is Kev, as symbolised on the chest of the Twentieth century troll shown here, the Star of Chaos, centred on Yin-Yang on cosmic balance.

50 years old!

Here is to the next 50!

100!

More!

Until his beautiful soul is ready to step off this wheel of life and transcend to the higher places.

  1. kev adams is definitely the nicest and wisest gentleman i have ever had the pleasure of meeting, he taught me so much about life in so little time of knowing him. I can sadly say i really miss some of our chats in his attic whilst he was working on some of his projects. Thank you for having a place to give kev the praise he deserves. The wondering man from Oxford.

  2. Hello Idotparsonsox4.

We will add a "contact Kev" form to the blog at some point, but, meanwhile, if you want to get back in touch with him, drop me a line at whiteknight-AT-frothersunite-DOT-com and we'll make it happen.
